The Manipal Life Sciences Centre (MLSC) carries out advanced research on clinical and biotechnological issues that are relevant to human health. Its research and developmental activities are actively supported by DBT, India in Translational Medicine, ICMR, DST, BRNS and several other industry partners. Fortified by its excellent research faculty, facility and resources, and the various international conferences and workshops that it conducts, the institute aims at becoming the leader in research and development, and promote enthusiasm among young, upcoming scientists.
Manipal Institute of Regenerative Medicine (MIRM) was set up in August 2007 to encourage the research in stem cell science. It provides a base where it brings together into a group of outstanding scientists and brilliant infrastructure to create an exceptional research environment. The aim of MIRM is to become a leading centre in the world for basic stem cell biology and work for critical advances in the field through a programme of ground breaking innovation.
This initiative of Manipal University is to facilitate the cutting edge research technology in Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering into delivering it in a clinical setting, a strategy commonly referred to as a bench to bedside approach. MIRM is a branch campus of Manipal University located at Bangalore.
Stempeutics Research Private Limited (Stempeutics) is a leading stem cell company developing stem cell based medicinal products, with facilities in Bangalore and Manipal (India) as well as in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). The company is in the process of bringing the first stem cell therapy product to the Indian market.

Manipal Foundation is involved in support funding various research activities carried out in the various research institutes of the Manipal group. During the year 2009-10 over Rs.6 lacs was provided as support for research activities. The second phase of these research activities will extend into 2010-11 and Foundation will continue to support them.
